Oregano– earthy/musty, green, hay, and minty notes.
How to Make This a Crockpot Chili Recipe
This beef chili recipe is meant to be cooked on the stovetop, however, I have made it in a crockpot. And….. It was just as delicious! However, I would suggest that you cook the ground beef on the stovetop in a skillet and drain the excess grease from the meat first. Then put the ground beef and all other ingredients into the crockpot. Cook it on low for 6 hours or on high for about 3 hours. Once it’s finished cooking to your liking, you can add a can of beans and cook for a few more minutes.

Add a little olive oil to the pan and brown the ground beef. Then set aside. I like to drain the grease from the ground beef while I move on to the next step.
Dice the onions and cook in 2 tbsps of oil over medium-low heat for 8 minutes, or until tender.
Stir in the garlic and add 3 cups of water. Scrap the pan.
Return the meat to the pan and add the spices and herbs. Cook on low for about 5 minutes.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce.
Cook for about 45 minutes on medium heat.
Add beans and cook for another 10 minutes. (Optional)

Can You Freeze Chili?
Heck yes! Try freezing it in single serve portions for quick and easy lunch options. To thaw out, leave in the bottom of the fridge overnight, microwave for a few minutes or warm in a saucepan.
